:: DAY 6 "Good Success" ::
-Read Josh 1:8, Math. 6:33, Prov. 10:22
When most of us hear the word "successful" we immediately think of having lots of money, a nice house, a nice car, and maybe fame. Musicians of the "world" are always making statements like "I'm blessed", or "I wouldn't be where I'm at today if it wasn't for the man up stairs"...and so on and so on. Then in most of their songs, they glorify the very things that are against God's nature and character, yet they say he gets the credit for their sin. Wow.
I think that it is vitally important for us to think about God's heart on the issue of "success". True, God blesses us with gifts and talents, but those gifts and talents that He blessed us with were given to be used for His Kingdom and glory...not for ourselves...or for Satan. He wont take those gifts and talents away from us (Rom. 11:29), but He's not gonna force us to use them for Him either...we have free will.
Joshua 1:8 reads "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Yes God does have a plan for our financial well being, and yes God does want us to prosper in all that we put our hands too, but if the person that we are labeling "successful" is not seeking God (out of genuine love for God The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and His Kingdom (God's way of doing things as King of His dominion), and if they are not observing to "do" the will of God as revealed in His word, according to His standard of righteousness, and not their own, then what they have is not God's idea of success that the bible calls "good success". What they have obtained is a lesser quality of success that didn't come from God at all.
Since the bible calls the God kind of Success "good success", we know that there has to be a "bad success". Bad success is the kind of success that comes with sorrows attached, and bad success is actually not a blessing at all...you don't want that kind of success. Ask God to show you specific examples of "good success" and "bad success" in your sphere of influence, and in our world period. Then follow His directives on how YOU are to become successful..."HIS WAY".
TODAY'S FAITH CONFESSION: God's idea of success is MY idea of success...I have good success!!
